Six pupils have been recognised for their contributions to October’s National Poetry Day and have received prizes from Senior School Librarian, Mrs Dewhurst.

On National Poetry Day, pupils were asked to submit poems for Performance Poet Paul Jenkins to read aloud and several of our keen Year 7 pupils submitted entries for the day. Those whose poems were selected have been given a goody bag, including a signed copy of one of Paul’s books, a QEGS Library bookmark and a certificate of merit.

Well done to:

  • Jonathan Baker
  • Umarah Iqbal
  • Sundas Shah
  • Ismaeel Nazir
  • Hashim Ahmed
  • Zoya Ali

Mrs Dewhurst would also like to pass on her thanks to Miss Rawoot and her English group for their contributions, along with thanks to the English Faculty for their support prior to, and on, National Poetry Day.
