During Lent term, Year 6 had the amazing opportunity to take part in a mindfulness day. The pupils were taught the science behind stress and anxiety and techniques into how to manage these effectively. Pupils took part in hands on activities to tune into their senses and focus on completing tasks. Pupils practiced the skill of square breathing to calm their Amygdala’s down and ensure that their brains were focused for learning. Finally, the pupils all honed the skill of standing like a superhero, which is scientifically proven to change your mind-set and make you believe that you can achieve anything you want!
