QEGS’ Languages Faculty organised an enrichment opportunity for all Year 11 pupils, sampling different languages including Polish, Japanese, Ancient Greek, Italian and Luxembourgish.
Pupils also took part in an assembly with former pupil, Mr Ian Brown, and representatives from Lancaster University to hear about the importance of languages in the work place and route options when it comes to the study of language at university.
During the taster sessions, pupils were fascinated by the fact that the our very own QEGS staff spoke other languages and took the opportunity to learn more about each teacher’s language experience. Staff gave an introduction to the alphabets and also shared more knowledge about the culture of the areas where the languages are (or were!) spoken.
The morning certainly got our Year 11 cohort talking!
