On Tuesday 14th October, QEGS welcomed a team of experts from the Army’s Royal Signals and Intelligence Corps for an interactive workshop that transformed Periods 1–4 into a mission of discovery. During the event, which was organised by Mrs Powell, Head of Careers, the Year 10 pupils were immersed in the world of cyber security and online safety, gaining firsthand insight into how digital threats are tackled by professionals on the front lines. Our pupils will made aware of the wide range of career paths available both locally and nationally, from ethical hacking to intelligence analysis.

The workshops sparked curiosity and ambition, showing them that cyber security isn’t just a job—it’s a mission. Many left the sessions with a clearer vision of how they could pursue careers in tech, defence, and intelligence, and how their skills could make a real-world impact.

At QEGS, we believe that education goes beyond the classroom. By offering experiences like this, we aim to equip our pupils with the knowledge, confidence, and inspiration to explore the many opportunities that lie ahead. Whether it’s in cyber defence or another field, we’re proud to help our students take their first steps toward a bright and secure future.
