One of the BIGGEST celebrations in a school library’s calendar and this year we have something spectacular planned!
To get the day off to a good start we will be running a D.E.A.R session(Drop Everything & Read). Pupils, students, and staff across Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form will be reading for the first ten minutes of period one.
We are also really excited to announce Author Matt Oldfield will be in school for the day talking to pupils in Years 5, 6, 7, and 8. Matt’s time spent with us on WBD will be focused on the Ultimate Football Heroes series. At lunchtime pupils will have the opportunity to ‘meet the author’. Matt is happy to discuss his career choice/writing path and of course sign books, bookmarks, footballs, sport shirts etc. Books will be available to buy on the day for £5.00 (cash payments only)
Matt Oldfield is the author of Unbelievable Football (winner of the 2020 Children’s Sports Book of the Year award) and the Johnny Ball: Football Genius series. He is also one half of the brothers behind the Ultimate Football Heroes and Classic Football Heroes books series for children aged 7-12. Their fun, action-packed biographies tell the exciting life stories of the world’s greatest footballers, from Maradona through to Messi, from Beckham through to Kane.
