On the 3rd of October, Mr. Windle led a group of excited and dedicated Sixth Form students to the British Textile Biennial (BTB), held across various venues in Blackburn.
The BTB is a free festival of contemporary art, commissioning artists and designers from across the world to create work inspired by the context and legacy of East Lancashire’s textile industry and its global impact—often displayed in the very places shaped by that history.
Student Reflections
We learned a great deal about how Lancashire’s industrial heritage has shaped our lives today. From migration to fashion design, to architecture and beyond, the visit showed us just how influential the textile industry has been in creating the world we live in.

“As always, our students were a credit to the QEGS community. I am incredibly proud when I see them engaging so thoughtfully with professionals at events like this, asking insightful and well-considered questions.”
