Performance Poet and Children’s Author Paul Jenkins returned to QEGS, albeit in a slightly different format to usual proceedings, to help QEGS pupils celebrate National Poetry Day.

Pupils in Year 4, 5 and 7 took part in Zoom workshops with Paul, who read out poetry in his signature humorous style, after pupils in Year 7 submitted their poems to be read aloud ahead of the afternoon.

Senior School Librarian, Mrs Dewhurst, reflected: “It is always a highlight of our Library calendar to have Paul visit and entertain our pupils, whilst sharing his own love of reading and writing. This year, we had to be creative with how this special day was going to be delivered but staff and pupils alike were delighted to listen to Paul and see him perform some of our favourite poems live on screen.”

Thank you to Paul who one again brought a lot of joy and laughter to our classrooms!
