Dear Parent/Carer,
The safety and wellbeing of our QEGS community is our number one priority and therefore it has been decided that school will close on Friday 11th December for pupils and students in Year 8 to Year 13. Children in our Primary Phase and in Year 7 should still attend school tomorrow.
This is to allow for a deep clean of the school to take place following a small number of positive cases in the Senior Phase. This decision has not been taken lightly but it is one that we believe is in the best interest of the QEGS Community.
There is no need for any parent/carers to worry, this is a decision that has been made as a precaution to ensure we maintain our high safety standards and so that pupils, students and staff can enter into a safe and enjoyable festive break. The Year 7 area will be deep cleaned after school this evening ahead of their return to school tomorrow morning.
All pupils and students in Year 8 to Year 13 must access the remote learning system on Friday 11th December as work will be set following their normal timetable. School will reopen to all year groups on Monday 14th December 2020.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your continued support during these challenging times.
Best wishes,
Mrs CY Gammon
