Two pupils in Year 7 have been selected by the BBC to go through to the next round of ‘500 Words’, a writing competition run by the BBC. 24 QEGS pupils entered the competition earlier this year and the BBC have confirmed that out of 240,000 entries, 2 QEGS pupils have made it through to the next round.
Eshal Ali and Priyanka Georgy’s written pieces will now be submitted, along with the 5,000 other entries, to the Reading Agency for the second round of judging. The next update is expected in May, where the final 50 will be announced.
Congratulations to Eshal and Priyanka, and good luck for the rest of the competition!
