QEGS teachers Mr Braime and Mr Windle accompanied Sixth Form student Poppy McDonald as she ventured into the professional art world, holding her first live art demonstration for Atlantic Contemporary Art at the Artistry House in Preston.
The venue runs workshops with leaders from across the creative industries, bringing together enthusiasts from across the North West. Staff and students alike took part in a range of workshops to help broaden their own skills and further understand the creative industry in the region. Poppy’s session focused on process and technique, topics that form just part of the wealth of skills she develops with the help of the Creative Faculty team at QEGS Sixth Form.
Mr Braime and Mr Windle also ran informal art sessions throughout the afternoon on portraiture and nature-inspired work, as members of the public were invited to explore their creative side, whilst browsing the venue’s eclectic mix of pieces.
