A small group of Year 11 and Year 12 Mathematicians recently attended the Florence Nightingale Day at Lancaster University, an event that promotes Mathematics and Statistics as a career choice for young women. Dr Vandita Patel, Ziyang Yang and Dr Nicola Rennie, each delivered presentations to explain about their work within the field of Mathematics, and the opportunities available.
Our pupils and students performed outstanding well, whilst competing in a Mathematics competition against the other schools and colleges from across the Northwest, who were also at the event. They worked outstandingly well as a team to complete the problems set, and were thrilled when they finished in first place.
Well done girls (and Mr Roocroft!), what a fantastic achievement!
