They have just finished their A-Levels and now, Year 13 Students Bethel Stanly and Yaseen Siddique are about to embark on a charity bike ride to raise money and awareness for Children with Cancer.
The boys chose this charity because they are both very passionate about helping those who are in need. Bethel said: “being in the positions we were as Head Boy and Senior Prefect, it only felt right that we use our positions to help others. Children with cancer is a charity that we strongly want to support. No child should have their childhood taken away from them or suffer from large amounts of pain, often a side effect caused by treatment. We want to help those children and their families who are living this nightmare to try and ease some pressure.”
They plan to start off in Farnworth and cycle to every football stadium in Manchester, starting with Salford City FC, then to the Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City FC, and lastly to Old Trafford, home of Manchester United FC before returning back to Farnworth. The ride is approximately 25 miles and will take place on the 5th of July.
