Netball

Swimming

QEGS result at Bolton Fast Water Gala was 4th overall, against Bolton, Ripley St Thomas, Sandbach and Hutton Grammar school.

Additional Sports Results

Football – U15’s English Schools National Cup (last 32) match verses Horizon Community College, Barnsley, won 3-2!  With goals from Alex Bendell and Sam Midgely the game was 2-2.  During extra time, Harvey Ashworth scored the winning goal with a glancing header with only five minutes remaining.  The team have performed wonderfully and are now through to the final 16 out of 700 schools that entered nationally.  Well done to all of the players and Messrs Bendell and Hindle.

Swimming – Well done to Amy Ainsworth, Daniel Ainsworth and Ana Hartshorne-Evans who competed in the Inter Counties Swimming event.

Cricket – Year 8 team competed in the Lancashire Cricket Foundation Indoor 8 a-side competition.

Netball – Congratulations to Bea Clarke who played for Leeds Rhinos U17 vs Loughborough Lightening, prior to the Senior Netball Super League – Very exciting!

Fencing – Well done Nicole Saunders, who fenced in France for GBR U17 cadets.  One of ten girls selected and competed against fencers from both France and Spain.  Nicole will now fence for Team England in Poland this March.

OB Cricket – Well done to OB Alex Davies who scored 100 for England Lions at the weekend against India.
