The David Hopkinson Academic Scholarship
The David Hopkinson Academic Scholarship celebrates academic excellence and recognises students who embody the ambition, curiosity, integrity and commitment to learning that Mr David Hopkinson championed throughout his distinguished career at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School.
Named in honour of Mr David Hopkinson, whose remarkable 48 years of service to Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School left an enduring legacy, the scholarship reflects the values he exemplified throughout his career: academic excellence, fairness, service to others and a commitment to making the most of every opportunity.
As a teacher, Head of Sixth Form, Deputy Head and Clerk to the Trustees, Mr Hopkinson inspired generations of students to broaden their horizons, challenge themselves intellectually and contribute positively to school life. The scholarship seeks to recognise students who demonstrate these same qualities and who will play a full and active role in the QEGS Sixth Form community.
Awarded to students with outstanding academic potential and achievement, the David Hopkinson Academic Scholarship acknowledges not only exceptional GCSE performance but also a genuine love of learning, leadership potential and a desire to make a meaningful contribution to the wider life of the Sixth Form.
