PSHEE
AIMS
The overarching aim of the PSHEE curriculum in sixth form is to revisit the three PSHEE themes of Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) Health and Wellbeing (H&W) and Living in The Wider World (LITWW). This will reinforce the learning in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 as well as covering more age-appropriate material as students prepare for adulthood. Thus, ensuring that our students can go on and become well rounded citizens of our society living independent, fulfilling, happy, safe and prosperous lives.
CURRICULUM
KS5
Students benefit from one lesson each week for PSHEE in both Year 12 and Year 13. This allows for new content to be delivered which is more age appropriate and life stage appropriate. It also allows for the re visiting of the key PSHEE themes to consolidate such knowledge and learning.
FACILITIES AND RESOURCES
PSHEE for most pupils is delivered in the dedicated classroom for PSHEE in the Queen’s Wing. There is a subject lead who is responsible for the delivery of the curriculum.
Enrichment
The learning in PSHEE is supplemented in school with outside agencies who come in and deliver assemblies/workshops. PSHEE themes/topics are also considered by the tutor time programme through Votes for Schools and assemblies.
