Three students in QEGS Sixth Form have encouraged their fellow students to donate essential items in recent weeks, to support Blackburn Foodbank.
The Year 13 learners, who are undertaking a year-long project to increase the volume of donations that the centre receives, have called upon everyone within the Sixth Form to donate items such as food, cleaning supplies and essential products, such as nappies and face masks. The items have been delivered to Blackburn Foodbank ahead of the half term break, which is often a time of great need for local families.
Ali Chaudhri (pictured), Hira Karimi and Amaan Sharif will now begin the next phase of their project, which aims to work with local supermarkets in labelling products that are in high demand at the foodbank, in order to encourage more people to donate.
