Year 6, Head Boy, Rohan Gupta along with his father and friends have raised a stagering £5685.00 for local charity, Nightsafe.
Nightsafe were set up in 1990 by a group of local people, with the aim of alleviating the plight of homeless and vulnerably housed young people within the borough of Blackburn with Darwen and surrounding areas.
The Nightsafe charity works with young people who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness and will provide accommodation, day centres with information, advice and guidance.
Mr Gupta said, “I won’t lie it was a tough tough night for us, both emotionally and physically. Hats off to all that took part and to the staff at Nightsafe who work tirelessly day in, day out to keep others safe and off the streets. The fight to eradicate homelessness needs to continue. This was just one night. Never have I felt more guilty going home to a warm bed. Lets always spare a thought for the people who suffer each and every night and just don’t have that option.”
Well done to the Gupta family from everyone here at QEGS Blackburn!
