It is with great sadness that we have to report the passing of Richard Foster on 1st August 2019, aged 75. After leaving QEGS Richard went on to work for a number of large companies such as Walls Ice Cream, Dansk, Texace and Amoco. After a number of senior management roles he moved to Saudi Arabia in 1979 where he was employed as office/HR manager for large construction companies and was involved in the building of the international airports at Riyadh and Jeddah returning to the UK in 1986. Without any higher education qualifications Richard struggled to find work and took a degree course at the University of Kent at Canterbury where he studied Accountancy and Computing. He worked hard to achieve a Second Class Honours degree and was subsequently offered a lecturing role at Thanet College, Broadstairs. At age 67 Richard retired from lecturing but not being one to give up work completely he went to work for his son Edward and daughter-in-law Christina in their law firm as assistant practice manager until 2018 when he was forced to retire due to ill health. Richard will be greatly missed by his twins sons Edward and Stephen, his many friends and former colleagues.
