Today, the school community gathered to remember those who fought and sacrificed for the freedoms enjoyed today. In solemn silence, the courage and resilience of those who served were honored, as well as the hardships endured both on the battlefield and at home by their families. Their dedication serves as a powerful reminder that freedom is never granted without cost and that peace must be valued and protected.

Year 13 student, Laurence, played a haunting and beautiful piece on the piano and Mrs Gammon read the famous words of Laurence Binyon from the poem ‘For the Fallen’ and then we the two minute silence was observed by the whole school.

The senior school and sixth form then solemnly walked by the war memorial in silence, where a wreath had been laid by Mrs Gammon and two year 7 pupils.

Observing this remembrance emphasises the importance of carrying forward the lessons of history and demonstrating respect, responsibility, and compassion in daily life. By honoring the legacy of those who served, the memory of their sacrifice continues to inspire and guide future generations.
