QEGS Library celebrated National Poetry Day on Thursday 2nd October, inviting pupils to create poems on the theme of play, using the library as their source of inspiration.

Mrs Dewhurst was blown away by the creativity and effort shown in all the entries, and the winners were recently presented with certificates and books as their prizes. Many thanks also to local poet Paul Jenkins for his very generous donation of poetry books.

Congratulations to our Year 7 winners—Ayat, Myiesha, Nawaf, and Mohammed—and to Year 8 pupil Hooria, who all produced beautiful poetry inspired by the school library.
