In the run up to the General Election, QEGS Blackburn held their own Election to elect a Student MP.

During a main assembly Sixth Form Students Isaac Blackburn candidate for The Labour Party, Alina Abbas candidate for The Green Party, Dami Adenji candidate for The Conservatives and Fareeha Sheikh candidate for The Liberal Democrats presented their party views, priorities and what they would do if they were elected.

All candidates spoke exceptionally well and articulated their views clearly before taking questions from the electorate (pupils and students).

Pupils and students received a ballot paper to place their vote and Prefects verified and counted the ballots revealing a clear winner.

Alina Abbas, candidate for The Green Party was duly elected as Student MP For QEGS Blackburn.

Thank you to everyone who took part in this excellent event and congratulations to Alina Abbas on your successful election.
