During the COVID period we have greatly missed meeting parents/carers and we hope that you and your families have come through the pandemic unscathed.

Many of you will know that we are now in the season of Ramadan and therefore many of our pupils, students, parents and carers are currently fasting during day light hours. The fast is broken at around sunset (the Iftar). Prior to the pandemic, the staff at QEGS were delighted to host a special Iftar for the QEGS Community and we are now equally delighted to announce the return of this event. We are hosting an Iftar on Thursday 28th April 2022. We are pleased to report that several staff will be joining in the fast on Thursday 28th April.

In order to celebrate we would like to invite all parents, carers, students and pupils to come along at 8.30pm on Thursday 28th April to celebrate and break the fast together. Could we highlight that this is an invitation to all regardless of cultural background. We all live in and around Blackburn and this is our community – we should celebrate together!

There will be some refreshments provided but you are welcome to bring along extra foods should you wish to share with others. Namaaz facilities will be available if you would like to bring along your own prayer mats.

Entrance to the School will be via the Head’s door on West Park Road and the door will be open from 8.15pm.

We very much hope you will be able to join us.
