Pupils from Year 9 took part in workshops on knife crime, drugs and county lines with a local PSCO, as part of their PSHE studies. Despite knife crime not being a particularly common issue in Blackburn, the UK is seeing an increase in the amount of young people carrying knives.

The sessions raised awareness of the dangers of carrying knives, exploring reasons why young people may be recruited into gangs and the effect of county lines on communities and families.

Pupils enjoyed having the opportunity to ask lots of questions to a local PSCO who held the workshops, with questions relating to different areas of the law, types of drugs and the consequences of individuals breaking the law in the UK.
