As 2019/20 academic year comes to a close, Senior School Librarian, Mrs Dewhurst, has announced our Pupil Librarian of the Year…
Isaac Blackburn, Haleemah Chishti and Harvey Buck of Year 8 have all worked extremely hard throughout the year serving as ambassadors for the Senior School library.
Pupils worked through the SLA Pupil Librarian training programme attending lunchtimes duties and learning many new skills, thus gaining their bronze, silver and gold awards. Pupils were able to continue their training remotely during lockdown, a new experience for all of us!
Toward the end of the academic year, pupils had the opportunity to go forward for the Pupil Librarian of the Year award.
We are now delighted to announce the award for 2019/20, which goes to Isaac Blackburn of 8JLN. Isaac was a breath of fresh air in the school library and was always full of new ideas. His timekeeping was impeccable and he never let myself or our team down. Choosing the winner this year was extremely difficult, but Isaac has put so much into the training and went that extra mile, so he without a doubt deserves this award. Isaac will have the opportunity to continue his role as Pupil Librarian in Year 9 helping with the training of our new team of Pupil Librarians.
It must be also noted that both Haleemah and Harvey also had a very large part to play in helping to maintain our well-organised and inviting library. Congratulations to all three pupils on completing the award and special congratulations to Isaac.
Pupils will receive their prizes in September and news of our new team of Pupil Librarians for September will be shared soon!
