We are delighted to announce that the Queen Elizabeths Grammar School has been awarded the prestigious Platinum Artsmark award, in recognition of our outstanding arts and cultural offer.
The Artsmark Award is the creative quality standard for schools, accredited by the Arts Council England. It supports schools to develop and celebrate arts and cultural education by putting creativity and well-being at the heart of the curriculum. Artsmark ensures every pupil and student can be creative and that they have access to a diverse and high-quality cultural education. Platinum is the highest award the Arts Council issue and we are one of just 65 settings (inc Schools), who have achieved it this year nationally.
At Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School we offer an exciting curriculum, introduce new arts subjects, and run an ambitious and authentic extra-curricular program. Pupils and students have opportunities to take ownership of their creative use of the arts. Their voice has both an impact and an influence within our setting, and they act as ambassadors for learning in the arts.
Tim Birtwistle, Head of Creative Faculty said “I am absolutely thrilled that we have been awarded Platinum Artsmark, in recognition of our outstanding arts and cultural offer. It is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of the Creative Faculty, and I am very proud of all the teachers, pupils and students involved.”
