Pupils in QEGS Primary Phase were visited by members of the local Police force, as they aim to educate children on their work and how important the Police are to the local community.
PC Mark Slater and PCSO Steve Charnley, from Blackburn with Darwen Police, started their visit in EYFS, talking about their jobs and what they do on a daily basis, as well the importance of seatbelt safety. Some lucky children even got to try parts of the Police uniform too!
The visitors then took a trip to Year 5 and 6 classrooms to discuss how to stay safe online and how the law operates in this country. PC Slater then demonstrated how to handcuff someone, with Mrs Southworth put in ‘cuffs, much to the amusement of the pupils!
We would like to thank the visitors for their time and we look forward to welcoming them back into school again in the future.
