School was a hive of activity and creativity as QEGS took part in the No Pens Day Wednesday, a national event that encourages schools to put down their pens and to run a day of speaking and listening activities.
The day is run in partnership with I CAN, the children’s communication charity. Throughout the day, pupils enjoyed a whole range of sessions which involved whispering corridors, string debates, drama, building marshmallow towers, carousels and lots of hands-on activities. The whole school community embraced the challenge to develop learning in different ways, emphasising the need to communicate effectively orally.
Staff and pupils are already looking forward to next year’s event!
