Year 10 pupil, Natasha Hartshorne-Evans, successfully completed her first open water swim event, and raised £400 for the ‘Pumping Marvellous Foundation’, a charity very close to the family.

On Friday evening, Natasha pulled on her wet suit and took to the chilly waters of Lake Windermere to take part in The Great North Swim.  She swam 0.5 miles around the Lake to challenge herself and bring together two elements of her Duke of Edinburgh Award.  Swimming is Natasha’s physical activity for the Award and in support of the heart failure charity, ‘Pumping Marvellous Foundation’ of which she is a keen volunteer, managed to raise an incredible £400 for the Charity.

Natasha thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and is already looking forward to next year when she will be old enough to tackle the 1 mile course.
