QEGS Primary Phase teacher, Mr Aslam, tackled an impressive challenge by running 5km every day during the holy month of Ramadan.

Mr Aslam, who was meant to run the London Marathon at the end of April, has challenged himself to run every day whilst fasting to raise funds for the Penny Appeal. The charity builds water wells in Africa, to help communities get access to fresh, clean water.

Mr Aslam explains: “We are very fortunate to have safe water by simply turning on our taps – however, there are millions around the world who have no access to clean water. I am aiming to raise £4000 though this challenge and through the re-arranged London Marathon later this year.”
