Earlier this term, our Year 7 pupils enjoyed a fantastic Geography field trip to the seaside town of Morecambe, putting their classroom learning into practice in a real-world setting.
During the visit, pupils investigated how successful Morecambe is as a tourist destination. Working in groups, they completed environmental quality surveys, carried out field sketches, and spoke to members of the public to gather valuable data. This hands-on experience helped develop key geographical fieldwork skills and deepened their understanding of coastal environments and tourism.
The day involved a scenic walk along the promenade between Happy Mount Park and The Battery, where pupils were able to observe coastal defences and consider how the area is being developed for the future.
The weather was kind on the day so the trip was not only educational but also thoroughly enjoyable. And, of course, no visit to Morecambe would be complete without a stop for ice cream and a photo opportunity with the iconic Eric Morecambe statue!
We were extremely proud of how well our pupils represented the school throughout the day, demonstrating excellent behaviour, teamwork and enthusiasm.
