A team of eight Year 10 pupils were selected to represent Queen Elizabeths Grammar School in the annual ‘Maths Feast’ competition at Burnley College.

Maths Feast is a fun educational challenge for Year 10 pupils which tests problem-solving and teamwork skills.  There are several rounds requiring different skills and strategies for success, and awards are given for good teamwork and for the winning team of each round.

The aim of the competition is to improve problem-solving skills using recreational maths and improve teamwork and communication skills. There were several rounds requiring different skills and strategies for success.

Although we did not win the competition, our pupils tried their best and enjoyed the tasks set. The girls’ team noticeably worked more collaboratively than the boys and managed to score 4 points higher overall!

Mr Roocroft and Mrs Berry were very proud of how hard all our pupils worked and hope they enjoyed the day as much as they did!

Well done to all involved.
