There is no stopping Mr. Smith, QEGS Blackburn – Geography Teacher, who has been elected to run for the England Masters V50 10k team.

England Masters is a not-for-profit membership and development body for grassroots athletics and running in England. Its purpose is to inspire more athletes and runners of all abilities and backgrounds to fulfil their potential and to have a lifelong love for the sport. Their vision is for athletics and running to become an inclusive sport where everyone belongs and can flourish.

Mr Smith also qualified last summer in the Wrexham 10k and took part in an England v Wales fixture at the Chester 10k in March where he ran his fastest 10k for 17 years, completing in 35.43!

Unfortunately, due to injury, Mr Smith was unable to take part in the London Marathon but he still travelled down to the Big City to support his teammates and cheer them on. Mr Smith is hoping to do the Chester Marathon in October then the Manchester or London Marathon next April.

We wish you a speedy recovery Mr Smith!
