Last week, pupils from Years 7 and 8 gathered in the school’s Main Hall for an exciting careers event organised by Mrs Powell, Head of Careers. The inspiring event being an interactive theatre roadshow delivered by MGA Productions, designed to introduce students to a wide range of career opportunities within STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

In collaboration with BAE Systems, the Royal Air Force, and the Royal Navy, the production centred around the theme of Artificial Intelligence. Through a dynamic and engaging performance, students were introduced to “Fluffy,” an AI-powered robotic dog, and participated in hands-on activities that demonstrated how computers process image recognition.

Further enriching the experience, pupils had the opportunity to explore creative applications of AI by producing a song, composing music, and filming a music video using a variety of AI tools and software.

The event proved to be both inspiring and educational, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm among students as they explored the possibilities of future careers in STEM. Feedback from pupils was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing how much they enjoyed the experience and felt motivated to learn more about emerging technologies.
