Jacob, who is a keen volunteer for the charity ‘Heartbeat’ spent his Saturday afternoon at Bamber Bridge Football Club recently to help raise money for the charity. He began volunteering with his family for Heartbeat after his grandad suffered a severe heart attack.
The organiser commented that, “the conversation with the football supporters at the match who donated money into the collection boxes was excellent, the dedication and commitment was a shining example of what our young children do nowadays”.
Being a young volunteer allows pupils an opportunity to get involved in their local community, meeting new people, learning new skills and most of all gaining valuable employability experience. It is a great opportunity to try something different, well done Jacob!
