A lunchtime of giveaways took place to help raise awareness and celebrate the annual Harry Potter Book Night. Pupils in Year 7 and 8 were invited to pick up free Harry Potter quill pens and bookmarks, plus treats made by the very talented members of QEGS Bookmark Club, which were extremely well received.
Mrs Dewhurst commented:
“Every year the love for the Harry Potter books is rekindled! I am always amazed and delighted to see our new Year 7 cohort arrive and eager to borrow the Harry Potter books from our school library. Highlighting Harry Potter day has to be worth its weight in gold; to see children with their own or library books and to have such a great turnout at our Harry Potter events is always encouraging. I certainly didn’t want to let the day go unnoticed, ensuring there were enough treats to giveaway and also including a Harry Potter book raffle. A bustling lunchtime took place with over 70 pens and bookmarks being distributed – what a busy and wonderful event we had. We very much hope to return to our usual annual Harry Potter evening event next year.”
