Year 11 pupils attended a Medical Careers Day at Unsworth Academy as they consider a career in medicine in the future.
Medical students from local universities shared their experiences with our pupils and led medical activities, including ‘Emergency Medical Assistance’ procedure, Diagnostics and Medical Ethics.
Two practicing Doctors also spoke to the pupils at the event, which was organized by MCS Projects. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed their exciting trip as they experienced scientific developments at the cutting edge of modern medicine.
Dr Saunders, Head of Science, commented: “This was an excellent trip for our Year 11s who are thinking of a medical career in the not-too-distant future. The medical students who spoke to our pupils lead hands-on demonstrations and workshops, which our pupils were very engaged with”.
“Many of our Year 11 pupils will continue their study at QEGS Sixth Form, with our Science A levels proving very popular every year. We look forward to supporting these future Medics in their studies and playing our part in making their career goals a reality!”.
