Pupils in Year 6 had a visit from Blackburn Red Watch Firefighters last week.
Pupils learnt all about keeping themselves safe as they transition to secondary school. They learnt about the importance of wearing a helmet when cycling and avoiding distractions such as headphones, mobile phones, and playing music whilst crossing roads.
They also learnt all about the correct clothing to wear in the darker months so they can be seen by motorists, and how to devise an escape route from home if a fire was to break out.
Mrs Tattersall, Year 6 Teacher said “ All the children (and staff) learnt so much, we thoroughly enjoyed the session”
