Whilst many pupils and students stayed at home during January and February 2021, taking part in remote learning, our EAL (English as an Additional Language) pupils continued to attend school so that staff could support their progress with learning English.

Support staff in the EAL unit used the school closure period to intensively support these pupils so that once schools reopen, the pupils can thrive within the classroom with their fellow pupils.

To celebrate their progression, which has been driven by Angela Qarini, Nigina Nazokatova and the Learning Support team, we have created a video which celebrates their newly-acquired language skills and shares some of their feelings towards life in England.
