On Friday 20th May QEGS celebrated its first ‘Cultural Diversity Day’. Pupils and students attended school in cultural dress and learning focused on cultural elements linked to the subject area.
Donations were made to UNICEF, the current total standing at £336.15. UNICEF is a charity that supports children in danger across the world. The money raised will contribute to their continued work across the world.
Pupils and students received a virtual assembly where they reflected on their own diverse communities and they were challenged to break down barriers and learn about different traditions, customs and lifestyles.
School saw an abundance of impressive outfits on show and pupils and students were discussing their own culture and explaining what culture means to them. Thank you to all pupils, students and their families and to school staff for making the day such a success.
We look forward to building on this event in the future.
