QEGS was delighted to welcome professional cricketer Chirag Khurana, known as “Chiggy,” for a special coaching visit ahead of the May half-term break.

Chiggy led a series of engaging and high-energy training sessions with a range of pupils, including the Year 6 class, the Year 7 and 8 girls’ teams, and the Year 7 boys. His sessions combined expert guidance with an infectious enthusiasm for the game, creating an environment where students were able to develop their skills while thoroughly enjoying the experience.

Throughout the day, pupils had the opportunity to learn directly from a professional, gaining valuable insight into techniques, teamwork, and match play. His approachable style and passion for cricket made a lasting impression, with students responding positively to both the challenge and encouragement he provided.

Staff praised the visit as a fantastic opportunity for pupils to experience top-level coaching and to be inspired by someone actively involved in the sport. The sessions not only supported skill development but also reinforced confidence and a love for the game.

The school expressed its sincere thanks to Chiggy for giving his time so generously and for making the day such a memorable occasion for everyone involved.

QEGS now looks ahead to the rest of the cricket season, wishing Chirag Khurana every success and offering their full support as he continues his professional journey.
