Box Clever Theatre Company visited QEGS to explore ‘An Inspector Calls’, the play that Year 11 pupils are reading as part of their GCSE study.

The organisation uses live theatre to inspire pupils and see the characters and context behind the words on the page through interactive performance and participation. In the session, Year 11 pupils acted out parts of the play to dive into the meaning behind important quotes and moments within the story. The visiting actors used their incredible skills and passion to generate conversation between pupils and a deeper understanding of the play as a whole.

Within their examination in May, pupils are not permitted to use the book or an extract of the text so creating vivid memory and recollection is key for success in the English Language and Literature examinations.

Next year, pupils will study Macbeth and we look forward to welcoming Box Clever back once again!
