Esteemed Artist and former QEGS pupil Alastair Gordon visited the school to talk to Art GCSE pupils and A level students about his work, career and aspirations for the future. Alastair, an accomplished artist with an impressive reputation, hosted a Q&A with attendees whilst showing various examples of his work, which is often exhibited around the world.

Alastair is an award-winning artist, who currently lectures at UAL and Leith School of Art, and was Guest Speaker at Saturday’s annual Old Blackburnians’ Dinner. Art pupils and students from Year 11, 12 and 13 asked Alastair questions about his career so far and studied Alastair’s work, which focuses on the notion of a painting as a cultural artefact.

Staff would like to thank Alastair for giving up his time and inspiring our current group of talented artists here at QEGS.
