The Physical Education Faculty at QEGS was delighted to host the 2023/24 Sports Awards ceremony to share the award winners for this academic year.  The annual awards event, held at Ewood Park Football Stadium earlier in the month, recognised performance, commitment, improvement, and excellent playing attitudes shown across the school year.

The audience enjoyed a musical performance by Sixth Form students Jenson Gibson and Toby Saxty, as well as a captivating vocal performance from Year 7 pupil, Amber Beech.

QEGS welcomed special guest speaker Andrew Procter.  Andrew had a wonderful football career making 440 appearances for Accrington Stanley, Preston North End and Bury FC and is the 3rd highest appearance maker for Accrington Stanley where he spent the majority of his playing career. Andrew then pursued a career in physiotherapy and is now the 1st team physiotherapist at Blackburn Rovers FC. Andrew spoke about his education, career and life after football which guests found inspiring and motivating.

We would like to thank Andrew for giving up his time to attend our event.
