We are delighted to celebrate former QEGS student Maariya, who has graduated from the University of Manchester with a First-Class Honours degree in Art History, including additional research in the History of Art.
After studying Fine Art, Classics and Philosophy at A-Level with us, Maariya went on to develop her passion for art history through exciting academic and professional opportunities. During her degree, she carried out research at the renowned John Rylands Library, explored conservation laboratories, presented in Amsterdam, and travelled to Florence to support her dissertation research.
Alongside her studies, Maariya completed prestigious internships with Tabley House and Manchester Art Gallery, had her translation of Ovid’s Metamorphoses published, and became Arts & Culture Managing Editor of her student newspaper, interviewing acclaimed writers along the way.
Reflecting on her journey, Maariya credits the support of her teachers at QEGS for helping her discover and develop her passion for the arts, history, research and writing.
We are incredibly proud of all she has achieved and look forward to seeing where her career takes her next. Congratulations, Maariya, and thank you for inspiring the next generation of QEGS students to follow their passions.
