Consultation regarding 2024/25 Admission arrangements

Over the last 2 years Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School (QEGS) has been involved in very positive discussions with the Regional Schools Commissioner (RSC) and Department for Education (DfE) about the next stage in the development of the Trust.

On 1st September 2022 we officially converted from being a Single Academy Trust to a new Multi Academy Trust (MAT), QEGS Blackburn Academy Trust, a status which allows us to not only further develop Queen Elizabeth’s but also look to explore further opportunities for development and expansion. As such, it is now proposed that the School/Trust will be split (de-amalgamated) into two Schools; Queen Elizabeth’s Primary School and Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School (including the Sixth Form), and, as a result of the de-amalgamation, the Admissions Policy will be separated into 2 separate policies, one for each School.

As part of the final process in the development, the DfE have asked that we consult with all our stakeholders (parents, carers, staff and the wider education community) regarding the De-amalgamation and regarding the changes to the Admissions Policy.

Details of the full proposal has been sent to all our stakeholders and copies of the draft Admission arrangements can be found on the links below:
