QEGS was selected by Sport England to participate in a Year 9, 10 and 11 national ‘Active Lives’ Survey this term.
The Survey provides key and critical data to help understand Young People’s attitudes and behaviours around sport and activity. This data is then used to help shape future policy and more importantly used in all School investment decisions.
QEGS was one of only two High Schools that had been selected to represent Blackburn.
The questionnaires were designed to be simple and enjoyable for pupils to complete. Each school that took part received a school report summarising their own results, which gave schools evidence and insight into how they were performing in terms of engaging their pupils in sport and physical activity.
Dr Butler, Head of Faculty, advised “We really pushed the survey and encouraged as many pupils as possible to complete it, which resulted in QEGS submitting an amazing 220 responses. I am advised that this was the best response Sport England has received from any school. As a result, they gave us £250 towards purchasing equipment for our school”
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey!
