As many of you will know, the season of Ramadan has begun and therefore many of our pupils, students, parents and carers will be fasting during day light hours. The fast is broken at around sunset (the Iftar). We are pleased to report that our Iftar event will be on Thursday 21st March 2024 and several staff members will be joining in the fast on this day.

In order to celebrate we would like to invite all parents, carers, students and pupils to come along at 5.45pm on Thursday 21st March 2024 to celebrate and break the fast together. Sunset is at 6.19pm. This is an invitation to all regardless of cultural background and there is no requirement to have fasted on the day. This is our community – we should celebrate together!

We are delighted to inform you that some of our Sixth Formers will be helping with henna painting for any of our guests and there will be a speech at 6.00pm from Mrs J Albiston about the work that the school has carried out supporting the Good Samaritan Primary School in Uganda. We will also be raffling a ‘Ramadan hamper’ and raffle tickets will be available to purchase for 50p on the night.

There will be some refreshments provided, but you are welcome to bring along extra foods should you wish to share with others. Namaaz facilities will be available if you would like to bring along your own prayer mats.

Entrance to the School will be via the Head’s door on West Park Road and the door will be open from 5.30pm.

We very much hope you will be able to join us.
